Every one of SM's larger groups (6+ members) has one or two members who is super underappreciated. Yeah, I know he debuted as EXO-M and is in the CBX sub-unit, but Xiumin is that member who hasn't really gotten to shine. He's not really a vocal stand-out in the group, as his range and timbre have more of a stabilizing influence on Chen and Baekhyun's vocals (which, in Chen's case, is a damn good thing because he strains a LOT [gonna get some hate from the rabid EXO-Ls and Chen's rabid fangirls for this, but the boy ain't Ryeowook, he needs to calm down and settle into a more natural range for his pipes]). And, as part of the larger group, we don't get to really see his dancing talent. This song and its dance put Xuimin's true talents on display, and that SMILE on his face tells us, as fans, as consumers, how happy he is to finally get some of the label's attention for himself for once.
I am, personally, very happy to see Xiumin getting some attention. He deserves it, and it's about damn time the public noticed he exists.
