What i noticed about YHS is he want to push trainees to their limits and test their loyalty if they are still willing to stay and debut in YG after giving them harsh but truthful feedback. Look GD, Taeyang, Winner members, iKON receives lots of no sugar coated remarks but they endured it well and debuted. YG molds their artists to be tough and loyal and be a survivor and thats what Choi Hyunsuk is showing to YG and he have been rewarded for all his hard work.
Mr. Yang really comment harsh word for the trainees to push themselves to their limits. If you really want to understand Mr. Yang why he always do survival show go check out mix and match episode 1 he explains. For me those survival show molds those trainees not just their talent but also he is preparing them physically, mentally and emotionally because being an idol is not easy you'll be criticized by the public so in a way they do survival show not just for popularity and money most importantly they make their trainees to face the reality of being an idol does harsh words that yg give to his trainees is not even comparable to tha harsh words that most people will say to them when they debut. In short don't hate yg he's doing this to prepare them to the real world of idols
