  1. Irene Cara is 4 years younger than me. We both were born in New York City (Manhattan & BX) in the 50's and we're both Afro Latinos of Puerto Rican ancestry. Hearing about her death yesterday was very shocking to me because I thought of her several days ago. I had a big crush on her after seeing her in the movie, Fame. RIP, Irene, I hope you're at peace in God's Kingdom singing in the Heavenly choir while Gene Anthony Ray is dancing.

  2. Irene Cara tiene 4 años menos que yo. Ambos nacimos en la ciudad de Nueva York (Manhattan y BX) en los años 50 y ambos somos afrolatinos de ascendencia puertorriqueña. Escuchar sobre su muerte ayer fue muy impactante para mí porque pensé en ella hace varios días. Me enamoré mucho de ella después de verla en la película Fama. QEPD, Irene, espero que estés en paz en el Reino de Dios cantando en el coro celestial mientras Gene Anthony Ray baila.

    Tenía 09 años (1980) cuando ví "Fame" y 12 (1983) cuando apareció "Flashdance" en las salas de cine.
    Marcaste mi infancia y sobretodo mi adolescencia.
    "What a feeling" es y será un himno de nuestra generación. Y será recordada como la canción más bella e inspiradora en mi vida.
    Descansa en paz Irene Cara,… "fuiste luz y gloria, en un mundo de tanta oscuridad".
    Te extrañaré muchísimo.

  6. I always try to look, dance and hope I could sing like you, it was back in early eighties and I still feeling that way♥️. Dancing became to be a big part of my life♥️.

Just a lovely awesome woman with more too give….she hasn't really been acknowledge for all her natural gifted talents……female singers today, music videos, woman actors, performing arts, fitness vibes, powerful movie sound tracks sung and written by her, unique record covers hop hop, breakdance, actress….these and more , are why they are around today all thanks to Irene Cara..

    I have seen Talented entertainers in my live, weather its Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, Micheal Jackson theirs only one thing they dont have and that she lived the life she wanted to do, she gave everything in everything she pursued, with todays picture theaters and sound systems the irene cara bio pic will be awsome…..Fame was something in midst for her…..but we didn't see it….after the bio pic boom '' we will all remember your name'' our love from Angell family from nz love you Thank You IRENE CARA……..TEARS FALLING NOW…..
