2001 was dubbed as Michael Jackson’s year of the comeback with his latest album, ‘Invincible’, finally being released after being postponed for over two years and coming to a final cost of $21 million.

The King of Pop needed to put his musical magic into hyperdrive so to warrant his now exorbitant price tag, and with that in mind a marketing blitz commenced. This included a star-studded televised tribute concert celebrating his 30 years as a solo artist, which became a major media event and attracted the era’s biggest names in popular music and entertainment.

But could Michael live up to his record’s name and prove himself still ‘Invincible’ after so many years on top?

  1. everything seemed so positive, except for the press

i gotta admit, when the internet wasnt so widely available as today, i also thought of him being so weird because all informations i gained were from the tabloids, i still love his arts regardless

but now, the internet has everything under its fingertip, it's so easy to trace information, so eventually i realized how the media treated his image

sure, he is not a naive angel as most of his crazy fans claim, he did savy bussinesses and calculated many public moves, but he was also the most kind hearted celebrity ever

when youre in such a high status of fame, it's impossible to keep your public image clean, everything that has the name Michael Jackson on it sells

  2. finally you made the most important year!! 2001 !!! please do 2002 AND ESPECIALLY 2003… his life drastically took a turn in 2003 in my opinion

  3. Thank you for your video, it's really amazing and a good documentation. I think Invincible was a really great album, it was more sold in Europe than in America. Sony had this long fight with Michael because Michael owned more than 50% of the ATV music catalog. Sony tried to punish Michael and didn't promote his music and sabotaged the success of Invincible. They didn't even released "What more can I give". Michael wanted to donate money for the victims of the September 11th attack. New York played it anyway. Nobody is able to touch Michael's reputation and his legacy. Michael's music is eternal. He is a timeless artist in the history of music. His fan base is growing, legends never die!

  4. This is my FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME OF MICHAEL JACKSON. On my bus ride today, I was playing 'Threatened' and 'Heaven Can Wait' on loop. My #1 go to work out song is 'Unbreakable'- everytime I hear it, I get an adrenaline rush because I think i'm on the treadmill. I'm also in my 20s so to hell with what the press was talking about 'Invincible won't appeal to the younger generation'. Here I am, a millennial in 2023 and THIS ALBUM APPEALS TO ME!

  5. Michael always comes out on top even in this era. Never underestimate him. That 9/11 part shook me to my core….. Man devastation that was and how everything changed afterwards.
