      The family of Seungri went banckrupt when he was a kid so he had to go make this way into the world . BigBang was the first group to be formed with a survival show . Seungri got eliminated once . When they decided to bring him back they found him sleeping in a bus station because he had no money for a bus ticket home. He was 15 or 16 when BigBang debut . He had to leave his family and live with the others . Everyone got big solo too and I think he felt the pressure to not just keep up but be at least as successfull. He felt the need to be apreciated . After 10 years with the company , after YG build 2 office buildings with BigBang money YG CEO finaly showed at Seungri birthday party . For a kid who left home he was his father figure . He was crying to finaly feel seen . I think this created a fertile land for those fake friends who told him sweet poison words and lead him to bad decisions . I hope this cold shower woke him up and he manages to put his life in order in the future . Unfortunately Korea is not very good at encourageing people to rebuild or to praise those who do . People are always reminded of their mistakes instead . Anytime someone rise above they go " but remember when …. " . They never let people move on .

      VIPs: I know the beginning of the Burning Sun scandal and the current status of Seungri's incarceration, but not everything in the middle. Please give me – very briefly and without lashing out – the definitive argument against his complicity in what was going on in the club he partially owned and bartended for fun every night he had free time. I genuinely want to hear info that isn't delusional, emotional, or giving his talent priority over the humanity of the victims, and I want to hear it from calm, rational people.
      If one single Seungri stan of the nasty variety comes at me, I will simply delete this and hope for info from some other source. Thank you.

      I think the actor you mistook for TOP is Lee Byunghun (who TOP acted with in IRIS). Lee Byunghun has been in a lot of Hollywood movies (Red 2, Ashfall, a couple of G.I. Joes, Terminator).

      There are so many false claims in that second video. "First fandom to have a name" when ELF and Cassiopeia were already established before VIP. Even Shinhwa Changjo has been around since first generation. "First to coin the term maknae" when maknae is a cultural thing that has been around for generations. Every group of people has a maknae, siblings in a family, friend groups, office teams… I love Big Bang but these false claims are just silly. No need to pad their resumes, they're already legends.

      So far I like the fact that when they were young they are sometimes as goofy as BTS. I saw an interview where one was soo handsome and made money acting.

      20:27 The older idol generation wasn't marketed the way next generation are being marketed since the start of third generation. There's a big discrepancy between two generations. Yes both were using technology and social media but everything between the two are so different from the other. You'll need to be able to grasp the significant difference of technology and Kpop lifestyle in the older days versus now.

      You'll probably won't encounter Kpop if you weren't digging into Asian pop culture around the 90s- 2000-2010 era. The most active online users back then who likes Asian culture have heard of Jpop, Kpop and idols. But in the old days Kpop idols were thought as gay-ish or talentless. We blame it on the bubblegum image and lipsyncing era. Men, particularly didn't like it. If it weren't for BIGBANG, men's general impression of Kpop won't change.

      VIPs collected court proceedings from the start of the trial. They've been posting their thread on Twitter endlessly. I don't think it has reached a bigger audience. Text is too small and thread is too long for ordinary people to read.

      The thing I love most about Big Bang is that they never sucked up to the VIP. They knew when they did something wrong and did apology music for "forgiveness", but would follow up with – "if you are still disappointed with us then leave. We are sorry but if you are not happy with us we won't stop you – leave"…

      Share any video with Seungri or not it's your own business of course. But I wish you can at least just dive in his trials results. Seungri is very kind and humble person. And I feel bad because they destroy his mental health and career.

      I was lucky enough to see GD in concert in Seattle for his MOTTE tour. He had great stage presence but a surprising vulnerability. His ments and the stage concepts made it seem like he was going through a lot of self-discovery and uncertainty.
      At any rate, I think he's a creative genius simply because of his fashion sense and designing the first unique light stick. hehe I'll never stop bringing that up because if he hadn't decided everyone needed crowns instead of stupid little sticks, we wouldn't have the ARMY Bomb. 🤩

      The thing with seungri is that we will never know the truth and what he really did bc when the scandal broke down the media made him the face of the scandal bc he was very famous more than the others so they used him as headline for more attention they put his name on all the things that happened we will never know his real crime but we know for a fact he wasn’t involved in the burning sun thing “ fun fact the scandal name was burning sun but it’s was more than one scandal there was a lot of things that happened burning sun was one thing but there was others things that was going on seungri was involved in other things but can we say for a fact that he didn’t know what was really happening in the burning sun I don’t think so so for me in the burning sun scandal he is guilty of silence he know but didn’t talk so what was the things he did the fans that support him will say it’s just gambling but again it’s not true the gambling thing is just one part he did other things but we will never know but we know after the media made him the face of the scandel the public pressure was so hard that the judge himself said he needed to “ set an example “ but if you watched bigbang old interviews you will see the group talking about seungri friends that they didn’t like them that he didn’t spend time with the group anymore he talked about money all the time GD for the first time was super angry with him bc seungri didn’t even invite the members to his birthday party GD dissing seungri friends in his song “ middle finger up “ bc they tried to take his number saying they are seungri friends telling gd that “ they know beautiful girls “ can you imagine how much they asked gd for his number for him to say that in a song seungri parents talking about the fact that he was busy all the time even for them so I think he was young and he wanted to shine outside bigbang bc in bigbang he didn’t get the same attention the other members get so he tried to get it outside them and he get what he wanted from the wrong people I think it was so hard on the members to see that bc the fact that they talked about it in public more than once I hope when he get out he will never repeat his mistakes

      Big Bang began to dominate in just their 2nd year and together with GD, his subunits(GD/TOP, GD/Taeyang), and Taeyang reigned the industry for 9 straight years before they began preparation for military enlisting, with pop, hip-hop, and R&B. So it's a mistake when people only use Big Bang the group as a comparison.

      I don't think it's that weird that you've never heard of them, since it's been awhile that they're on hiatus and the members are not too keen in exposing themselves, not even for their fans. They don't usually do what a typical idol group do to get exposure and keep the fame. Media made their life a true hell, they never hid it. I think when BIGBANG really come back, we'll for sure hear more of them.

      Mike, have you decided how you’re going to cover BigBangs long career yet? They’ve got a lot of music and I’m sure you’re getting a boatload of suggestions. Their early career actually has 2 phases, a very early beat boy group with some great songs and MV’s that in my opinion at least are best seen in their MV’s as opposed to live stages. Then they blew up with their famous mega hits Lies and Haru Haru and even though the video quality isn’t great they are excellent story like MV’s that should be seen and heard that way first to get a good feel for the group. After this I feel that their live performances are more important as they are best seen and heard in concerts. Not the awards shows although Mama 2013 was pretty incredible. Their own concerts are really amazing. Good luck on your journey to VIP land my friend. 😊

      You said you understand a little bit better… which means that long videos didn't give much substantial information about the group.✌I think I haven't found a single BIGBANG introduction video that explains their history well. There was one video posted by KCON in 2013. It has interviews of producers from YG and the USA. It's outdated but a good one, but I can't find it in their channel anymore.

      I don't think anyone will discover BIGBANG from 2018 or even in 2022. Unless you're so deep into the Kpop rabbit hole. When they released Still Life in 2022, they didn't promote it. They were like ghost. You hear them but you can't see them.

      They also don't promote like other idols today. That's like a thing of the past for BIGBANG. They did that when they were young, but most of it were only available for Korean and Japan audience. All their oldest pixelated videos with translation came from the hard work of VIPs, not the company.

      I miss the “insult”.. it’s best not to talk about Seungri, I get the feeling he got close to some bad dealings and went down due to his prominence and youth.

      bigbang wanted to be recognized for their music n talents….but they were very low profile esp after many scandals happened to them….that's why it's very hard to see them on tv or social media….they're very different n unique, even their mvs didn't provide engsub, sometimes i wonder if they really wanted to be global or just doing what they want, without any pressure…..about seungri, i follow him for years, n i believe him, i believe the court proceding, i believe the witnesses….for me he's initially a good n brilliant person, but mind u, he's also a human being, actually i don't care abour ur opinion towards him becoz it's ur right….

      I remember watching the mtv awards. None kpop ever reached that before(as far as i remembered). But that was the first breakthrough kpop i saw to reached western. Its saddened me that they didnt get enough promotions. If they gotten better promotions i could see them getting much more bigger in western. But oh well im happy enough that we are the vip who stumbled upon them and supported them through all these years. Im a vip since 2009💛

      1)bb is d 1st intoduced mini album concept & that later followed by other artists
      2)bb documentary is d blueprint in nowdays kpop idol making group shows
      3)bb is d only kpop group where all its member succesful as a soloist..b4, most idol choose to left d group/disband in order to pursue solo career
      4)gd/gdragon is d pioneer of airport fashion back in 2009 & till now..most of big house of fashion brands choose kpop idols as their ga bc of gd..he's d only asian male as d chanel muse selected by d karl himself..not only gd is known as kpop king but also fashionista king
      5)most of bb mv r contratry to "conservative" sokor..they appear half naked,take a piss & shit, smooking & interact ambigiously with their female partners..most idol mv avoid doing all these things cause afraid/avoid d critism from their fans..back in d days,fans consider idol is their own..but bb dont care bout that, & even ask fans to leave them if they dont like it..that's y bb is d considered d "bad boy" of kpop..& d only kpop boygroup which have more fanboys than fangirl tho😏
      6)when taeyang annouced his dating with min hyo rin(his wife), most vip r shocked bcause he's actually dating, he commonly known as church boy & hd least interaction with female,let alone dating & married tho..& when they actually married, vip r extremely happy & evn create meme to congratulate his "aldulthood"🤣🤣🤣..u know,in d past when idol r caught dating,they will b criticised & cancelled by their fans tho..but not vip, we r happy more than our own family got married tho 🤣 & now some other fandom r more acceptable when their idols is dating/married..such like iconic when bobby announced he'll b a father

      & in seungri case,u better check more info & dig deep..not just read clickbait esp like allkpop,koreaoboo..most of them r writing bullshit & mixed seungri case with other case..i believe seungri is injusticely judge & punished by someting he didn't do..
