MISC creative notes

METAMORPH = a term I coin to describe my new, intensive seamless song adaptation technique for the ease of learning and performance by original vocalists; lifted from the word Metamorphosis, because, the new adaptation is not just a clone, but the same “soul” entity within, and the new set of lyrics are like strong wings that could carry the song far and wide.

Experienced ears may have noticed, these are not typical English covers but something with rich real world applications.

It all started with my love for the sound of the Korean vowels, when vocalized through certain melodies, by certain particularly emotive Korean vocalists…

Imagine thousands of non-Korean concert goers singing English version of these beautiful sounding Korean songs, while KNOWING, FEELING, SINGING, EXPRESSING almost exactly the same emotion as the Korean voices next to them… Imagine that energy…

So I went to the drawing board.

The result could be deceptively smooth sounding. But do know, every word has been painstakingly considered, every line has many editions, every song I adapted has been sung a hundred times or more, to get the result I wanted. That is what I mean when I said it is a passion project. 🙂

Professional lyricists would appreciate the tightly placed syllabic alignment and rhythmic punctuation. Bilingual lyricists would notice the unprecedented amount of matched rhymes, vowels and consonants, not just within the adapted English version, but across two very different languages.

But I won’t bore you with more words, and will trust that seasoned singer songwriters (or anyone with keen lyrical sense) would notice the amount of love, heart and soul that went into these works… 🙂
