SHINee’s Impact in Music is BIGGER Than You Think. {{Deep Dive}} [15th Anniversary Tribute] Reaction

  1. Shinee💎💎💎💎 yet this vid still have not sum it all up, these boys R Legends n respected by A lot 💎💎🎊🎊🎊

  2. So nice seeing people get to know SHINee a bit more. And get ready for the 15th anniversary comeback 🎉 it’s going to be HARD.

  3. when shinee's don't call me came out, some people said they didn't like it because it wasn't shinee's usual style of music. which made no sense since shinee is an experimental group. It's really fun to follow their music, it's like opening a blind box, you never know what you'll get next.

  4. SHINee's fandom name isn't "shallows" 😂
It's SHINee World, or "shawols" for short. "Shawol" is a combination of the first syllables of the words "SHINee World" as written in hangul (korean alphabet) so it's pronounced sha (like the shi in shiny) wols (exactly as it's written).

  5. The Shiny Foundation is very, very legit. The SHINee members themselves and many other SM artists and even Jonghyun's friends in the music industry outside of SM support it to this day.

  6. I was really surprised to see the problems at SM as I had thought they treated their groups better than most. I can't claim to be a Shawol but I enjoy finding out about the members. They have gone through so much as a group. Losing Jonghyun must have been devastating on both a professional and personal level. I have friends who think that famous people have nothing to complain about but we don't know what strains they are under. Imagine falling in love and getting married and your fans camp outside your agency demanding you divorce as has happened to one K-Pop star. Or when you announce your daughter's birth a group of people try to destroy you as happened to, Tablo, of Epic High. It's good to hear that the SHINee Foundation is a great support for young artists. I was interested to learn that SHINee started the filming of dance practices. I believe that Taemin was a lot younger than 14 when he started training. He was fourteen at debut.

  7. Jim, if you want to see a more serious and excellent interview between SHINee and two music producers regarding their music process (especially in creating 2021's "Don't Call Me"), I would like to suggest this interview: "What Makes SHINee Scared" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2qy-sfu4sU&list=PLmKkeyYjG4DOU9U0Rgt_r5A3W2QfrzOYT&index=221 ) It was a much longer interview, but this is the only part put on YT.

The "SHINy Foundation is legit, and they just recently had this year's event.

  8. The fact that they've had this career for 15 years and the oldest member is only 33 years old is crazy. The impact and path they paved for a whole countries industry, they opened the global door for the next generation to explode on the west. Truly the idols of idols so excited for their upcoming album this month. SHINee are back baby!

  9. Thanks for reacting to this. I appreciate that this takes nothing from the achievements of other groups to recognize the works of SHINee. Sending love to everyone in the kpop families Shawol and otherwise.❤

  10. While BTS has recieved it's popularity, shinee already achieved so much. I don't understand the hype that BTS gets. It's not they aren't talented or don't deserve. However they get bit too much hype than what actually they need to get. Every artist has talent and visuals. Shinee is definitely one of them. I don't understand what shinee/exo is lacking and what only BTS has to get such huge popularity. No offence plz. Am not hater of BTS. It's just my perception.

  11. SHINee did not have it easy and Jjongs depression started before debuting and in my opinions Koreas mental health system fucked up on him(doctors excused his mental health!!) and i think Korea overall needs better educational and mental health system. But back to Shinee, i would say Taemin did have it pretty bad when he debuted at 14(started traning at 11), he was criticized on his vocal skills and was called tone deaf before he debuted and had almost 0 lines in their first song/album, he spent very little time with his family and would cry thinking about his brother(a problem shinee and all of kpop have, underage kids should get to see their family more often) He was also heavily sexualized by men and women(constantly touched without permission, inappropriate jokes, and made to do uncomfortable/sexual things) and was femanized, which caused him to not like his androgynous look and took him a while(until MOVE era) for him to embrace it. I can go on about the other members but that would be way too long, but i have lots of appreciation and more respect towards them after finding out what they've been thru.

  13. They were the one who've have done the first hard dance move and choreography in kpop too,
Taemin is known to be the MJ of Korea,
    Onew can sing Opera,
Jonghyun is known to be one of the most beautiful voice in korea,
Key is the first korean artist who've design outfit for his groupe, …. etc ….

…. & so many more ( most are rescent ones)

Not everyone will love their song, i'm Shawol since their debut & Shinee is one of the only groupe still today who have touch so many type & style of music during their career (they're so creative) but even if i'm a Shawol i have some song that i'm not a fan of & song that i love, it's normal & depend on the music test of peoples.
When i see today so many toxic fans ( of Bts & Blackpink) posting toxic comment about Shinee disrespecting them just for existing not because of something in particular (probably cause they see them still being popular today even if they're an old groupe & that they don't know them or else …) it really make me angry cause SHINEE have build the Kpop & what it is today , most trend or thing that their groupes do today SHINEE were the first one doing it . They're known to be the Pilar of Kpop, Most celebrity who've came after them love them & some are even fan of them (They're well respected by everyone in the industry)

Now Kpop really look a like, have "same concept same type of music" etc (it change little by little but ..)
& most importantly the fandoms have became so TOXIC (of course back then Fandoms were toxic too in some ways) but today it 100% worst than in the past

  14. A few more things: Jonghyun is the first artist in SM to release a self-composed album inspired by stories from listeners of his radio show. SM refused to promote it so he produced it himself. Jonghyun also used his radio show to openly discuss depression (he even visited a fan who wrote about her struggles), lgbt rights, economic issues affecting Millennials, and politics during a time when the president was blacklisting celebrities for criticizing her. Key also is heavily involved in marketing and design, he just had an exhibition with a famous Korean graphic designer who worked on his last album, and had a huge say in the concepts and designs of his songs Bad Love, Gasoline, and Killer. He's also is behind recent marketing for SHINee's anniversary and comeback. Some of his album design ideas are are popping up a lot in recent albums. He's behind several Korean trends like a balcony garden and growing vegetables at home after an episode of I Live Alone during Covid. Key is also credited by the media for establishing a successful instagram model for Korean celebrities. He's so vocal about the importance of socials that he bashed SM's official accounts on tv and started an instagram with managers to showcase more behind stuff and engaging pictures rather than relying on youtube behind videos made by labels. He's also working on full certification as a chef. Onew just got his for being a yoga instructor. Taemin also goes uncredited for choreo, planning, styling, composing, and working with directors. He actually helped a lot with his 2nd album, but is more notable for storyboarding and picking final cuts in MVs starting from Criminal. He helped with point choreo, choreo direction in SuperM One's MV, and assisted the director with final cuts of the same MV. He was not credited – members and staff had to bring it up. He also assisted the director with Don't Call Me's MV and is in part responsible they got the song. Key and Taemin are also known for preparing very long presentations to SM's department heads so they would be given creative control for solo albums. One of them famously did their pitch for 2 hours. Due to years of fighting for creative control they are also known for designing merch and have inspired friends and other artists to do the same.
