Taeyang is in their parodies, he just rarely plays a big role in them. He has danced to girl group songs many times. I don’t know the exact reason why he was not in this performance, my guess is because maybe they wanted to cover it as four to match 2ne1 (since the song was also shortened). During YG Family concerts they often did performances in different constellations, so could also have been that Taeyang was doing something with someone else later. YG is one big family so everyone doesn’t have to stick to their respective groups all the time during the concerts which is so much fun, they get to play around a little ☺️
So I don’t think it was a big deal that he wasn’t in this particular one.
I have always interpreted Taeyang as thinking he is not very good at comedy and variety shows, and therefor being less inclined to want big roles in parodies.
I don’t think it has anything to do with religion.

Taeyang was in coffee prince and secret garden parody. It's just this one he wasn't because 2ne1 has 4 members, not 5. That's the reason he wasn't in it.

Taeyang played the dance instructor in Secret Big Bang and was one of the coffee princes in the Coffee Prince parody. He's not much of an actor; he and G-Dragon are the only ones who weren't in K-dramas, but G-Dragon acted in a short called Muhan Company. Taeyang only appeared in "Haru: An Unforgettable Day in Korea" where all five members played idol stars.

Haha! This is one of the reasons why Bigbang has a big male fandom. As a guy, it feels comforting that I am a fan of a boy group who are confident, fun, as real as it can get, and are not afraid to show their funny side. They are just naturals when it comes to these parodies. And I heard it from another comment before, that Bigbang dances more on their parodies than they do on their own songs. LOL
The thing GD was holding is the old “light stick” this is the light stick fans used to hold in concerts before Gd design the light stick new form then all the companies liked gd design and they start to produce light sticks that represent every group
