This is my second video of solo stuff from SHINee.
Next one will be whole group together, any suggestions write please in comment section ❤️❤️
❗Due to the copyright (and my admiration to visuals) I pause a lot❗
Love that ur reacting to shinee! You didn't react to any of Jonghyun's solo songs though ): Will u be reacting to it as well? And for group songs I recommend songs like replay (their debut), love like oxygen, juliette, lucifer, sherlock, don't call me!
Always love it when people are discovering shinee. My recommendation would be please do album reactions. They have great tittle tracks, but the real gems lie in the bsides. And live performance is a must
Great reaction! Yes, Minho and Taemin tend to have darker and heavier sounds for title tracks/MVs but their b-sides will sometimes have more colorful music. Onew recently tends to go brighter but can have darker b-sides (except Blue, which was a dark title track). Key and Jonghyun float back and forth between light and dark title tracks and their b-sides will be just as eclectic..
For group songs, I recommend Replay, Married to the Music, 1 of 1, Atlantis, Superstar to start.
Fun fact: Notice how the sign outside the bar/the name of the bar in Minho's "Chase" MV says, "The last piece of the puzzle" referring to the fact that Minho was the last of the SHINee members to have a solo debut and that his album completes Jonghyun's legacy of making all the members solo debut album titles rhyme — Taemin Ace, Jonghyun Base, Key Face, Onew Voice and now Minho Chase.
I'm confused, how come you couldn't find subs on Minho's MV? There are English subs if you click on the CC button. I recommend you go back and rewatch the MV with the subs because the lyrics help to explain the song more. 😀
As one of the top actors in Korea starting in 2011, over the years Minho has developed an eye for storytelling. Plus, in college he majored in filmmaking and acting. Therefore, he had a specific vision for what he wanted the story and message to be in this MV. After being sent several drafts of the MV by the director, Minho went to the editing studio himself and actually directed the storyline the way he envisioned the story. So everything you see was designed by him. He even made the decision to not include choreography in the MV in order to make the story more cinematic.
As I see it, the MV is about being chased and sort of haunted by the memory of his past love. The girl broke up with him (or died) and he keeps chasing after the memories of her and the good times when they were in love. He keeps going to the bar where he has good memories of her and he gets beat up because he is disturbing people, as you see him walk up to that couple in the bar thinking the girl was his past lover. The guys who are beating him up are trying to prevent him from coming back or entering the bar, but he won't stop, so they have to use force.
In the beginning you see Minho and the girl lying on the bed, but if you notice Minho is staring at the girl but the girl is looking into the camera, which is over his shoulder. I see this as symbolizing how, even though it might look like things are OK and Minho might feel like they are still in love, the girl has already checked out of the relationship and she already has one foot out the door. The relationship was long over at that point.
So Minho is struggling to accept what happened. He was still in love when she had fallen out of love.
I'm not really sure that he was in a car accident or that she really died in the accident. I sort of see it as a metaphor about how their relationship came crashing to an end from Minho's perspective, and it symbolizes the death of their love, etc. Which is why we see that the scene where he runs after the girl right after the car accident is in reverse and everything is being rewound. The car accident could be a literal car accident, but I see it as more likely representing his emotional state.
At the end what you see is that he shot the memories that have kept him stuck in the perpetual loop, he wasn't killing himself but trying to stop the memories of her from consuming his life. With everything that SHINee has been through, Minho's storyline would have never depicted any form of suicide.
Now you need to watch the performance video, his dance practice video or a live comeback stage to see the choreography for this song. Because even though there is no dancing in the MV, Minho has some very cool choreography to go with the song.
Please don't forget about Jonghyun. You should also include his solo songs in your reaction with the other members. I mean SHINee wouldn't be SHINee without all the contributions Jonghyun made to the group, including his solo work. Please honor him by getting to know what a brilliant songwriter and composer he was.
The way to honor Jonghyun's memory is to watch him in everything he did throughout his career and to react to his music and listen to his songs. So, go ahead and react to as much SHINee content, and even Jonghyun's solo work, as you can. It's OK if it makes us a little emotional sometimes, but the way to get to know him and SHINee better is to really spend some time getting to know them as the amazing performers that they are.
All Jonghyun ever wanted was to make people happy through his work and to influence the world with his songs and lyrics. So, honor him by discovering what an amazing person he was and seeing all the good he wanted people to remember him for.
Yes, it's sad, but you don't necessarily have to make it that way if you just appreciate his work for what it is and live in the moment. His final words to the world were "Tell me I did well." And that is what we fans try to do. If you don't allow his tragedy to color your perspective, you will see that the members are still the fun, goofy, crazy, amazing, brilliant artists that they always have been, and their music and artistry still has that SHINee quality they are known for. If anything, all it has done is made them even more determined to show the world that this one event doesn't define them as a group and that they will continue to work to become even more brilliant in order to keep Jonghyun's legacy alive.
By continuing to watch and listen to Jonghyun's and SHINee's music and appreciating the hundreds of clips we are lucky enough to have with SHINee as a group of 5, we are showing Jonghyun that, yes indeed, you did well and your life will forever be meaningful to thousands of people.
Thank you for reacting to SHINee. I hope your grief journey in personal circumstances go well. I was abit sad when you use the name SHINee and didn't include Jonghyun in it. But I understand, hope you find happiness through your SHINee journey and I can't wait for you to listen to Jonghyun's solo songs. Take your time. Maybe start with their easy happy songs like Jojo, Hello etc.
Key is pronounce as key 🔑 "Ki". His Bad Love title track is a must listen.
Ten has said many times that he admires Taemin. Even before they got into the SuperM group together. Ten also says that he learned a lot from Taemin while they were performing together, and he also asked him for vocal advice. Taemin also sympathizes Ten and speaks highly of him.
